Multi Energy Storage Hub For reliable and commercial systems Utilization

Project MESH4U

The objective of MESH4U is to develop and demonstrate multi-energy storage hub solutions (technology and service) for flexible operation at the end user in the local networks of SME (small and medium enterprises) / industry, technology providers to ESO (power system operators) / DSO (distribution system operators). MESH4U solutions will help improve the reliability and economic advantage of energy supply in local areas and provide more flexibility and cost efficiency to modern distribution power grids. The multi-energy storage hub will combine different types of storage, e.g., electrical, thermal, mechanical and chemical, to integrate them into one system through different infrastructures (electrical grid, gas grid, heat grid, logistics). In this way, MESH4U solutions can handle real system operation where infrastructures are interdependent and where different technologies are used for different system and customer applications. Different technical, environmental and economic characteristics of the hub elements, e.g., converter, storage, and infrastructure systems, influence the characteristics of the hub, its architecture, and the possible range of performance. The devices and hardware components available on the market are applied in the hub, supported by the development of an optimal planning, monitoring and operating system.
