RELflex - Renewable energies and load flexibility in industry


The aim of the RELflex project is to develop, test and evaluate new solutions and applications for the flexibilization of energy-relevant industrial processes in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through dynamic management of controllable loads, renewable energy generation and energy storage. RELflex focuses on the technical development of methods, algorithms, business models and applications for the optimal use of flexibility options in industrial processes integrated in a Dynamic Energy Management System (DEMS). By activating different options that are regionally market dependent, such as aggregation of reserve generation units, new forms of flexibility can be offered to the distribution system operator. The economic potential and accesses to the market that open new business models for stakeholders will be identified. Technological and economic results will be evaluated by socio-economic analyses regarding active participation, acceptance and benefits for customers, society and further stakeholders.
